Jim Tichenor conducted a Basic Race Management Seminar at HYC in Houston, Texas on January 26, 2002.  Instructors included Jim Tichenor, Dean Snider, John Nicholson, James Liston, Billy Richnow, and Bruce Huckaba.  Thirty three students attended representing more than eight sailing clubs.  Several Recognized Senior Race Officers attended as their first step toward certification under the new program.
